How to apply for a Web Site Index

All Penn State colleges, departments, and organizations can request a Site Index . A Penn State Access Account is required to apply for this service.

To apply for a Site Index :

  1. Login to the Site Index Administrator Login page at https://siteindex.psu.edu/admin.


  2. Enter your Penn State Access Account user ID and password.


  3. Press Enter. The Site Index main menu screen will be displayed


  4. On the Site Index Administrator Menu screen, select New Index.

  5. After you select New Index, you will need to have the following information ready:

    • Name of your organization as you would like it to appear on the Site Index page.

    • Your organization's abbreviation. This will be used to provide a unique URL (Web address) for your index

  6. Enter the name of your organization and the organization's abbreviation in the spaces provided.


  7. Press Submit to submit your request.

    Note: You can exit the form without submitting and/or changing your information at any time by selecting the Main Menu button.

Your new index page in most cases will be created within three (3) business days. You will be notified by e-mail when your index page is ready.
