-A- about us - The Office of Student Development was established in February 2005 as part of the EMS Energy Institute’s 3-year strategic plan in support of the EMS College’s goal to create the most student-centered -B- -C- Center for Environmental Chemistry and Geochemistry Summer Fellowship - The CECG accepts fellowship applications for Penn State undergraduate or graduate students to pursue work on research topics related to environmental chemistry during summer sessions. This is a broad contact us - The Office of Student Development is located at 407 Academic Activities, 814-863-8893 Dr. Sharon Falcone Miller, Director -D- DOE Technical Career Internship Program - DOE’s Office of Fossil Energy initiated a Technical Career Intern Program to recruit highly qualified students from the nation’s top earth sciences and engineering universities for internships in foss -E- events - The Office of Student Development will coordinate various Social Events for students to meet each other and discuss research. -F- Funding Opportunities - The Office of Student Development provides funding assistance in the form of grants for undergraduate students to pursue research. These grants may be used to support senior thesis research or to supp -G- -H- hours - Open Monday & Wednesday 9-10am; Open Tuesday & Thursday 1-2pm; and All others by appointment -I- internship - The Office of Fossil Energy is challenged with several key missions that respond to the concerns of Americans over the quality of their environment and cost of their future energy supplies. Involving undergra job opportunities outside PSU - The EMS Energy Institute conducts research sponsored by numerous companies and government agencies. The student experiences the entire research process including the dev -S- Schreyer Honors College Thesis - Faculty and staff act as advisors or co-advisors for students providing technical expertise and making sure that the student fulfills their department senior thesis requirements. Students are given ac Science Lions - The Science Lions is a Penn State University student volunteer organization dedicated to fostering science and engineering interest in K-12 students. They develop and perform interactive science demon Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships - This program places students in paid internships in Science and Engineering at any of several Department of Energy facilities. Students work with scientists or engineers on projects related to the lab Scott A Castelaz Scholarship - The scholarship was established by the US Combined Heat and Power Association in 2004, when Scott Castelaz, a friend and leader for Combined Heat and Power, passed away. Scott was a member of the US C Summer Camps - Demonstrations and workshops on energy-related themes are presented to middle and high school students. Topics such as fuel cells, biofuel utilization, air pollution, hybrid vehicles, how electricity Summer Research Opportunities Program - The SROP program is for undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a degree-granting program (in any field) at an institution of higher education and who are members of a population underrep -T- thesis - Undergraduate students may conduct research at the EMS Energy Institute in fulfillment of their senior thesis.
